According to the obituary article dated June 21, 2017 in The Record newspaper, Matthew J. Gallagher was from Hackensack. 

The funeral was handled by Gentile Funeral Home in Hackensack and the funeral service was held at Holy Trinity Church. Matthew J. Gallagher was then buried in
St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Hackensack.

Matthew J. Gallagher would have been 18 years old in 1974 at the end of the Vietnam War, so his service was either at the very end of Vietnam or
Between Major Conflicts.
